Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8 NIV

The Great Commission

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

Mission: The mission of the church is to glorify God by striving to fulfill the Great Commission; intentionally proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to all peoples and nations and by intentionally making mature, reproducing disciples of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.

Missions
The utilization of biblically sound and culturally relevant strategies, methodologies and resources as the church glorifies God by striving to fulfill the Great Commission; intentionally proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to all peoples and nations and by intentionally making mature, reproducing disciples of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.

These definitions define the characteristic of the term “missions.”  The word “missions” is plural.  “Missions” flows from “mission”!  Missions is all about glorifying God “by striving to fulfill the Great Commission; intentionally proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to all peoples and nations and by intentionally making mature disciples of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.”

Coming soon
There is a program being launched at  CenterPoint Christian Fellowship Missions Team to serve in the community. This will span a Saturday/Sunday and we will serve in the community by picking up trash, helping seniors in their homes, working to clean up local parks, and more. “Serve Day” will occur in May 2017.

Jerusalem – Level One
The level one experience consists of a simple one-day service project.  These experiences serve as an introduction to missions. This would be serving in “Jerusalem”.  It gives the opportunity to serve and shine God’s love locally.

Judea– Level Two
The level two experience takes us a little further out of our environment.  This experience moves from a project (level one) to an actual trip. This would include spending a night or two outside of our environments in order to accomplish a more challenging service project.  This would be serving in “Judea”.

Samaria – Level Three
The level three trip becomes more intensive.  Where the level two trip stays in state and focuses on a work project, the level three trip will take you out of the state for a week and will combine work projects with some direct outreach ministry.  This would be serving in “Samaria”.

Ends of the Earth – Level Four
The level four trip is a full immersion mission. The level three trip outside the state but the level four trip will take us outside of the country. Jesus set out His disciples with a heart and a vision for their hometowns, their surrounding area, their neighboring countries and the expanses of the globe. It is CenterPoint’s desire for all to experience the same love for the world and see how God uses us to spread His love through cultural, and even language, barriers. This would be going to “end of the earth”.
